Job Summary

The Customer Service & 21st Century Skills Noncredit-Instructor role is essential to our accelerated workforce development training programs. As an instructor, you will bring our curriculum to life using inclusive facilitating practices to meet the needs of each student. Our curriculum covers a variety of essential concepts, preparing students for entry-level customer-facing positions in various industries. Additional duties include tracking attendance, grading assignments, partnering with program staff, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Instruction & Program Support

Facilitates comprehensive learning experiences on a wide range of customer service and 21st Century Skills topics, including:

  • Providing a comprehensive overview of customer service principles
  • Emphasizing the importance of effective communication, active listening, and empathy in workplace interactions
  • Enhancing understanding of customer needs and expectations
  • Promoting problem-solving skills and conflict-resolution techniques
  • Developing proficiency in handling customer inquiries and complaints with a customer-centric approach
  • Ensuring awareness and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Improving product knowledge and service delivery
  • Utilizing technology tools, including Microsoft Office applications, for workplace excellence
  • Job readiness fundamentals such as professionalism basics, resumes, interview skills, and networking fundamentals
  • Utilize instructional resources effectively and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Collaborate with program staff to ensure curriculum alignment and provide input on curriculum enhancements.

Customer Service and Classroom Support

The Instructor is responsible for assessing student progress and providing feedback and support throughout the program. This includes:

  • Utilizing effective assessment techniques to measure student progress and performance.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to guide students' learning journey.
  • Determining and submitting grades in accordance with college policies.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Identifying students needing additional support and connecting them with available resources or to ATC Career Navigator.
  • Demonstrating punctuality, attendance, and a professional work ethic.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as needed to contribute to student success and overall team goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Two (2) years of teaching experience or instructional experience
  • Strong focus on customer service and instructional methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in customer service and instructional design

Additional Information:

  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Typical office/academic environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise is typical in business offices. Must travel to various Columbus State campuses and client sites.
